The 20th anniversary of Free Comic Book Day (FCBD), one of the comic book industry’s most beloved and anticipated celebrations, will once again be a single-day event, scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Typically held in May, FCBD is the biggest event in the comic book industry — a single day when participating comic book specialty shops around the world give away comic books absolutely free to anyone who comes into their shops!

DID YOU KNOW? Sales of graphic novels climbed from $43 million in 2001 to over $516 million in 2018. Much of that success is due to the fact that many librarians endorse graphic novels as a tool to encourage reading among children and teens.
