Performance Pediatrics is a private sensory clinic providing pediatric Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapy in Lafayette and Totowa NJ. At Performance, we specialize in working with children presenting with challenges associated with disorders of relating and communicating such as autism spectrum disorder, Aspergers, sensory processing disorders (sensory integration disorders), regulatory disorders, dyspraxia, learning, behavioral and neurological disorders, gross/fine motor difficulties, visual perceptual/spatial challenges, self-help, and motor- coordination difficulties. Our therapists embrace the DIR®/Floortime Model of treatment developed by Stanley Greenspan, MD, Serena Wieder, PhD and Dr. Jean Ayres, Sensory Integration Theory with an emphasis on understanding the impact of the child’s sensory processing and postural control on their capacity to relate, communicate and learn. The focus of the practice is on empowering the child and parent in their interactions through child-directed play.

We assure a positive, child-friendly, family-based center servicing the community. Our mission is to give each child that comes through Performance Pediatrics doors the best of our experience and attitude that will help maximize their function and independence in school and home. We work at giving the parents empathy, guidance, understanding, and the knowledge to help their kids, believe in their abilities, and achieve goal.

At Performance Pediatrics, we believe in treating the whole child to individually meet each child’s unique and special needs. We strongly believe that ALL children have the ability to grow, learn, and develop and it is just a matter of tapping and discovering “how” they learn “best,” believing in them, and providing the “just right” guidance along the way. Our goal is to provide the highest quality of therapy to children and their families, with new and current evidence-based research and clinical experience. We strive to be on top of the latest programs available that will help children with and without special needs, as well as, to maintain the highest level of education and professionalism in our field.

With our state of the art sensory gym, our children have access to zip lines, rock walls, ball and foam pits, jungle gym equipment, sensory bins, games, social groups, family gamed yoga nights, over 15 different types of therapeutic suspension equipment, social skill and handwriting groups, a fun-filled 4 weeks summer camp and much more!

This is our 3rd Annual extended school year and Summer Camp! Our thematic. 4 week, half-day summer program is open to all children between the ages of 3-12 years old. We strive to provide your children with the skills they need to succeed in all areas of learning and play. We are able to decode and detect the underlying needs that children display making mastery of skills, or learning new skills challenging. That is why we created a fun, dynamic, multi sensory-based summer camp/school program that is appropriate for every child, all ages, learning styles and functional levels!

We have collaborated with amazing teachers, all with experience working with children with alternative learning styles. Our teachers are eager to provide hands-on, and follow our multi-sensory approach to learning to achieve academic success. Children will enhance gross and fine motor coordination, body awareness and impulse control, visual motor, and attention all while navigating obstacles, going on adventures, creating experiments, and developing self-help and coping skills throughout their program at Performance Pediatrics.
