Spring into Health

By Dr. Takacs April 7, 2017

The snow has finally melted!  Here are some tips for springing into health this year-

1.  Get outdoors and get some Vitamin D on your skin!  15 minutes of sun on your skin is all it takes.
2.  Decide you are going to get better, feel better and BE a better person.  The key point here is that all positive life changes begins with the decision TO change!
3.  Take control of your life and adopt an “I CAN” attitude.
4.  Drink at least 24 ounces of water a day.
5.  Refrain from drinking soda of any kind, including diet soda.
6.  If you commute to work for over an hour a day, exercise for at least 20 minutes during your lunch break.  A brisk outdoor walk with 2 lbs. weights in your hands daily is enough.
7.  Keep busy with hobbies, classes, volunteer work and family matters so that you have very little time to watch TV.
8.  Shop at a vegetable market every week and buy 2 bags of fruits/ veggies for each person in your house.  A family of 4 should purchase at least 8 bags/ week.
9.  Refrain from complaining and instead treat others with dignity and respect.
10.  Be willing to change things in your life, for the better, that are making you unhappy and/or unfulfilled.
11.  Improve your diet, take vitamins (see your doctor) and learn to be a better cook.
