Project Vacation: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), Monday – Friday, July 18th – 22nd, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Children ages 5—10 are invited to participate in Project Vacation: STEAM. Each day, with the help of guest presenters, children will explore a different facet of technology through fun, hands-on projects and activities. Topics will include career exploration, experiments, problem-solving and more. Stories, music and crafts will add to the fun! $10 registration fee per child.
Children in grades 1 – 3 are invited to join the Lunch Bunch at Project Self-Sufficiency! Eat lunch during story time, then participate in crafts, games, building activities, races and more. Tuesdays, July 5th – 26th, 12:0 – 1:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Sussex County Library. Free; space is limited and registration is required. Women are invited to upgrade their office skills through the Summer Office Skills workplace training program, Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 5th – August 25th, 9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Receive computer training, help with workplace etiquette, resume and cover letter development, interview skills and on-the-job experience. Project Sussex Kids, The Sussex County Council for Young Children, has been established by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families to bring together parents, caregivers, as well as health, education and social service providers to enhance communication, coordination and collaboration of services for families with young children. Eligible Sussex County teens, ages 15 – 17, can receive paid employability skills instruction at Project Self-Sufficiency, and get on-the-job experience at local work sites this summer. The Summer Youth Employment Program will take place Monday – Thursday, July 11th – August 11th. Eligibility is based on family income, lack of transportation, and current enrollment in high school. Free transportation to and from Project Self-Sufficiency and the work sites will be provided to participants. Campus to Campus College Assistance Program offered in conjunction with Sussex County Community College supports adults as they take the next step towards college and a career. Get free help with testing, test anxiety support, application forms, financial aid, childcare, and more. Campus to Campus Information Sessions scheduled on July 5th and 7th, July 12th and 14th, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; evening sessions also available, July 5th and 12th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. College IS for you! Sussex-Warren Project Family Connect Central Intake has been funded by the New Jersey Department of Health to improve the quality and services coordination for individuals and families to increase access to community resources. Call our hotline at 1-844-807-3500 to speak with a Family Support Worker who can assist you in connecting with local resources such as healthcare, transportation, life skills development, employment training, case management, voluntary home visitation and more!
Income-eligible pregnant women and new mothers are invited to receive visits in the comfort of their own home from trained counselors or nurses.
