Project Vacation: STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math), Monday – Friday, July 18th – 22nd, 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Children ages 5—10 are invited to participate in Project Vacation: STEAM. Each day, with the help of guest presenters, children will explore a different facet of technology through fun, hands-on projects and activities. Topics will include career exploration, experiments, problem-solving and more. Stories, music and crafts will add to the fun! $10 registration fee per child.
Family Fun Nights, Thursdays, 5:00 – 6:30 p.m., June 23rd – August 11th. Fun for the whole family at the Project Self-Sufficiency Community Education Center! Enjoy a variety of fun activities — classic family movies, craft projects, games and more. Refreshments provided. FREE!
Project Sussex Kids, The Sussex County Council for Young Children, has been established by the New Jersey Department of Children & Families to bring together parents, caregivers, as well as health, education and social service providers to enhance communication, coordination and collaboration of services for families with young children. Eligible Sussex County teens, ages 15 – 17, can receive paid employability skills instruction at Project Self-Sufficiency, and get on-the-job experience at local work sites this summer. The Summer Youth Employment Program will take place Monday – Thursday, July 11th – August 11th. Eligibility is based on family income, lack of transportation, and current enrollment in high school. Free transportation to and from Project Self-Sufficiency and the work sites will be provided to participants. Campus to Campus College Assistance Program offered in conjunction with Sussex County Community College supports adults as they take the next step towards college and a career. Get free help with testing, test anxiety support, application forms, financial aid, childcare, and more. Campus to Campus Information Sessions scheduled on June 7th and 9th, June 14th and 16th, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; evening sessions also available, June 7th and 14th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. College IS for you! Sussex-Warren Project Family Connect Central Intake has been funded by the New Jersey Department of Health to improve the quality and services coordination for individuals and families to increase access to community resources.
